Our first task - Creativity

I have decided to choose digital audio as my first mission. We have chosen to do a podcast as they are very accessible and have become extremely popular over the past two or three years. Over the past year i've discovered podcasts myself and have loved listening to them ever since. For our podcast myself and two others have decided to ask each other fun, relatable questions. Creating a podcast has been something that I have been thinking about doing for a while and i'm excited to have this opportunity to be able to create one.

We plan on recording the podcast on the voice memos app on an iPhone. From there we will edit it using software on our laptop. Hopefully through editing we can add intro music and some sound effects. It will be interesting to see and learn how audio can affect a listeners experience and how much it makes an impact on the podcast.

After creating what we hope will be a fun podcast episode we will collectively bring together our findings and what we have learned. From this we plan on creating a powerpoint presentation and present it to the class.

I am looking forward to getting started and cant wait to learn all about podcasts.

Youtubing

For my next creative digital media task I chose to do Youtubing. I chose this because I have always loved watching youtube videos and it is something I have a strong interest in. I teamed up with my friend Mel and together we sat down and put our ideas together. We decided to go for the 'beauty' side of youtube and do a chit chat get ready with us kind of video as this is something we would both watch in our spare time. We organised a time to meet up and film our video. It took a while to find a suitable room but after a few tries we found a suitable place and got the camera rolling. We were a bit nervous at the beginning but as time went on we were more comfortable which shows in the video. I edited the main video and Mel edited the vlog that we done documenting the process of filming our video. I found it quite difficult to edit as it is something i've never done before and it was a long video (46 minutes). I managed to edit it down to 24 mins. I wanted to add more skil...

My first few college assignments! A reflection

Welcome back to my blog!  I have decided to write a quick blog post on my first few weeks in college and how I have been getting on with assignments.  As it is my first year in college I was apprehensive and anxious to start, I wasn't sure how I was going to handle my time and get everything done, but so far I have managed quite well.  The module that I have enjoyed the most since starting college would have to be Creative Digital Media. Even though out of all the modules it is the one that involves the most work, I have thoroughly enjoyed the wide aray of subjects we get to choose from and the tasks that we have to complete within them.  The youtubing task was the most fun for me. I loved getting the opportunity to film and improve my editing skills. Although I am proud I have done so far, I do feel I can still improve in some areas.  It is taking me some time to get the hang of using Adobe premiere Pro as it is all new to me but hopefully over ti...

First of many!

This blog post is going to hopefully provide you with some interesting facts about myself even though I don't have much to work with! Im going to try keep this short and sweet. My name is Leslie and I just turned 21 this Wednesday (and before you ask, no I don't feel old yet). I live in a bungalow in a field in Kilbride but thankfully I drive or else I would have to walk ages to get to anywhere which does sound very appealing to me! This is my second time attempting college. I went directly to college when I finished my leaving cert around 3 years ago now but realised very quickly that the course wasn't for me. I am extremely indecisive on what I want to do in life and on simple decisions in general but i'm hoping to get into film in some way so fingers crossed I don't drop out of this course. Hopefully this will be the first of many blog posts I write.
